Lil Wayne and Tech N9ne collaboration coming
Most hip-hop heads know about the indie juggernaut that is Kansas City rapper Tech N9ne, but so do some of his superstar peers. One, in particular, who is really feelin’ Tech’s grind is Lil Wayne.
Weezy checked in with DJ Funkmaster Flex on Hot 97 earlier this month for his first live interview from Riker’s Island, and while answering questions about a variety of topics, one that prompted Tech N9ne’s name was when he was asked who he’d like to work with once he’s released.
Surprisingly, Tech was among the artists at the top of his life, as well as Andre 3000 of Outkast. As much as fans were surprised, so was the Kansas City rapper, who expressed his excitement when Vibe recently asked him about it.
“I’m still surprised by what Wayne said — we’ve never meet him, so for him to acknowledge me was a shock,” Tech N9ne told the mag. “You think people of a certain stature don’t know about you. I just wonder what songs he listens to.”
Tech is known for his grueling touring schedule, which has come from years of hard work. He’s released 10 albums over his 20 years career, which have sold more than a million copies collectively. He’s currently getting ready to head on the road once again for a nationwide tour with E-40, Jay Rock, Glasses Malone and his own Strange Music camp. But, when Weezy gets out in two months, Tech says he’s ready for that collaboration, which he says is already in motion.
“His people have been contacting us already, so I’m anxious to see what he sends me. I’m hearing his camp is all ready to send over some music,” Tech said. “And I’ll be in New York soon so hopefully I can visit him before he gets out.”

Too all of my fellow tech n9ne fans makin posts, you’re makin the rest of us look real bad. How can tech n9ne be your favorite rapper if wayne is the “best”? Come on now. Lil wayne is filthy lyrically, but what message does he send? What does he really say? Tech n9ne is a Prophet sent from who ever our creator might be to open the eyes of us all. Hope for a higher power, holier than thou, message to the black man, need more angles, do you guys even listen to tech n9ne? He’s sending a message. Lil wayne will be cool on a track with n9ne if he can keep up with the man resposible for the midwest choppers and welcome to the midwest. Don’t get it twisted, I’m a huge fan of weezy and I’ve bumped his shit since way back. But tech n9ne is for life. He’s been given nothing and has made a following out of his struggles. Waynes carreer is based off the life birdman gave him when he was a youngster. So all you out there who are saying that its “awesome wayne is reaching out to tech” let’s flip the script like check yo tempeture and realize lil wayne is the one honored here. Don’t fool yourselves.
Tech has always been real and hardworking…as for Weezy he is the most creative and one of the most talented and hardworking rappers the game has seen…I am really looking forward to Wayne’s return to hip hop. This will be classic!

I just think Lil Wayne should join Strange Music. Or they merge or some shit. Because seriously, I’m expecting some ill fucking shit from this. Wayne will never make it into Strange Music. Unless he completely changes his swag and raps about something with a meaning that’s real, he will never be qualified for a status under Tech. Don’t get me wrong, Wayne is great at what he does but he is just not fit for Strange Music. All technitions know that.
