Cortez Bryant Speaks On Lil Wayne’s ‘The Carter IV’

In VIBE’s latest Juice issue, which hits newsstands later this week, Bonsu Thompson scored some talk time with Weezy’s manager about The Carter IV. Check out what Cortez had to say down below.

Before Lil Wayne went to jail he told me, “When I’m gone, I don’t want my fans to feel like they miss me.” So he gave me The Carter IV before he went in- 20-something songs. Gee and I listened to them, but as time went one- I talk to Wayne everyday- it inspired me that he’d been writing inside. So I decided I wanna brand Carter IV as that Wayne the world’s been waiting to hear. It’s now gonna be all fresh-out-of jail material .The Carter Brand is so large I wanna make sure we don’t go backwards.

    Wayne produced tha carter 4 and was going to get cortez to release it thruout this time of weezy’s prisonment yeah. But wayne now is scrappin that and comin outa of jail with tha new carter 4 yeah .
    So does that mean ‘im not a human being EP’ was originally the carter 4 ? .
