“It isn’t right.” There are some things in this world that just shouldn’t be done. Judging one another is one of those things. Telling each other how you should or shouldn’t dress, act, or speak is just unfair. This is one of those things that you cannot control or handle in life.
Once you understand that a stereotype is a generalization about a person or a group of people. It leads to unfair discrimination and prejudice. These people are generally treated differently than others. We as people may fall victim to this behavior of making funny jokes without knowing their jokes aren’t really funny.
For this reason, this isn’t accepted in today’s society. Especially not now since times aren’t the same. Somehow, we as students take it as a joke and make it seem as nothing special is among us. Truthfully, there is more for us to do as the people because what we say affect others.
For instance, Tom Robinson a black man accused of assaulting and raping Mayella Ewell. Please note that I said accused, instead of thank for doing good in his community. Blacks’ doing well in the early 1900s wasn’t accepted, especially when they did better than whites. Despite these events unfolding, he is found guilty of rape and sentenced to death. Even thou there wasn’t any evidence, my point is that words are just as powerful as actions.
Please remember, if not anything else. Think before you say anything that could hurt another person feeling. Putting yourself in another person shoes is the only way we can progress as humans. Making mistakes is easy but correcting them is much harder said than done.
