So after last nights drama at the border [read here] TMZ decided they would post an old photo of Lil Wayne on his tour bus with a pellet gun and have the headline read “Lil Wayne Carries Shotgun“. Soon after another online gossip website MTO followed up and did the same thing claiming Wayne carries guns.

Earlier today NewLilWayne.com was contacted by Young Money representative Karen Civil who told us the real story. Check out what she had to say below.

Please don’t believe the TMZ hype… Lil’ Wayne would NOT carry a shot gun on tour, especially to showcase it around his younger fans. This issue was addressed in a Complex.com Interview with Young Money artist Drake.

Complex: So everyone on tour has a pellet gun? How’d this all start?

Drake: “Apparently, the pellet gun war started in Miami. Wayne was shooting up the artists, and then the artists went and bought pellet guns. Then Wayne bought out a whole store, literally. He went to a sporting goods store and told them make sure no one else can buy any guns or ammo and bought everything. So we had to go a different city just to get some. It’s one of those things that will go on until someone gets really hurt.”

Young Money members play a game of pellet gun war, I even got in on the fun, as you can see in the picture above with YM President Mack Maine, I also own one. Seriously, people need to stop trying to hard to find fault in everything Wayne does. Why is it that no large media outlets picked up on the fact that Young Money/Cash Money gave out over 10,000 Turkeys to families in New Orleans for the Thanksgiving Holiday? Yeah Exactly…

  24. I must admit I was mad when wayne dropped the blue for red.And I though he was a trader. But this is rediculious. Everyone is looking for anyway to make him look bad. Please people do your research and you’ll fine that he is a good person. Many people are so focussed on trying to make him look like a bad ass, wild gang banging, problem causeing, no good…. i don’t know… something. But lil Wayne actually gives back to many people in need all the time. Do you know that he started his own foundation which helps families all the time? And when Katrena hit he was there to help pick up the pieces? Well, he does and he did. And now people are trying to say he’s being irrasponsible by having guns on tour? Listen, I’m just saying to do your research before you start downing someone, cause you might just be downing a real down to earth good person.
