Recently rapper Bow Wow made headlines when he announced he was joining the Cash Money family, however some of those headlines were not good ones. Now Bow Wow is speaking out about his decision to join the record label, and he wants the critics to know he “has been down with Cash Money” for a long time.

Check out this quote from a recent blog he did for Global Grind.

To anyone who’s confused or says I don’t belong in Cash Money…Let me remind you that I’ve been down with Baby, Slim, Wayne and the whole Cash Money family from the beginning. 10 years ago when we really were “Lil” me and Wayne did a song for the Hardball movie soundtrack. Baby was influential in my third album. Last year, Wayne and I spent 2 months together in New Orleans filming Hurricane Season. So please don’t be misinformed and think I’m just jumpin’ on “what’s hot” or trying to ride others success. This has been my extended family for more than a decade.

What do you guys think? Is he going to be making hit records with the Cash Money family and Lil Wayne?

  5. Naw bad choice! Wayne and Bow are on 2 totally different styles.. Everybody on YM are great artist,but have a way bigger buzz than Bow and he has been out way longer than them! That’s a problem!! Drake is the hottest raper out rite now, then u have Nicky, lil twist,and they are all holding down YM.. Bow tries to be cocky and nobody looks at him as a serious rapper!! He is like a big joke.. To make a long story short, that’s like Will Smith singing with YM!! Bow u shoulda jus went to SODMG and did yo thing.. Now u way outta yo league homie!!

  6. hey yall, I think Bow Wow is ok to a certain degree. He started out one way and ended up another. Over all he is just too arrogant for me. All he rap about these day is what he got and how much of it he got. And another thing, he wants to be so hard. Everybody knows thats just not him and not his style at all.Personally I think he just trying to get in where he think he might fit in at. Thats what i think.

  36. Mr. Wow has made the biggest mistake of his life. Cashmoney isn’t the record label for him.. He joined cashmoney because they making hits right now. Everybody who coming out of cashmoney selling 500,000 or more the first week. But on cash money I could see why they signed him and omarion just more money for them..
