Lil Wayne Mourns Michael Jackson’s Death

R.I.P. Michael Jackson, the King of Pop

The world continues to cope with the death of Michael Jackson, and though the King of Pop has passed away, his undying influence reigns supreme. Jackson was a worldwide phenomenon who broke race, gender, culture and age barriers, and was regarded as arguably the greatest entertainer in any genre. Celebrities and fans alike have been reaching out to pay their respects.

“I personally can’t believe it,” Lil Wayne told MTV. “But it’s more unfortunate for the world of music. … My love goes out to his family. … A sad day in history, not [just] music.”

One of the artists of today that has garnered the most comparisons to a young Michael Jackson is Chris Brown. Like Jackson, Brown has been called a “complete package,” combining fashion sense, singing and dancing talent. Brown paid an amazing homage to the timeless icon at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards, mimicking MJ’s iconic moves.

“Michael Jackson is the reason why I do music and why I am an entertainer,” Brown said in a statement. “I am devastated by this great loss, and I will continue to be humbled and inspired by his legacy. My prayers are with his family. Michael will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. He’s the greatest … the best ever. No one will ever be better.”

Personally I don’t know if I’m cool with MTV comparing Chris Brown, the Rihanna beater, with Michael Jackson the greatest of all time. Chris Brown’s reputation has been tarnished at such a young age, although Michael did have controversial relations with children in his old age… We’ll see. What do you think? 16. Chris Brown being compared to the Legend Michael Jackson is a huge mistake! Sure he may dance like him and copy his dance moves, but his voice is no where near the same quality as Michael’s voice. Also I believe that there is no singer today that is an Artist as Michael was. His lyrics touched us all deeply and he truely spoke from the heart. How many singers today can sing witout cursing or talkin about nonsense. Bring the love back! R.I.P always remember Michael Jackson

  21. wow very childish how ppl talk about michael jackson in vain, karma will come back around to you, so yehhh michael was just ery interested into kids,, no problem, when he was small he didnt get taught how to be a man all he was taught to do is to sing, so yehh he grew up on seeing lil kids have a good life and he never got that opportunity and would love to give modern day kids that opportunity, so dont hate on his ambitions of being a good father, he is gone but never forgotten

  23. I think that CB had much potential to be the next big thing but NOBODY can touch MJ! Will we ever let this “beating” thing go?… I doubt it, and it’s going to f*ck with his career. And just like one of those boys who accused MJ of molesting him, actually admitted that MJ never touched him, it was all for the money. But you still have people calling that man a child molester. Billions loved him and it only took a few to kill him. I was not sad when I heard the news but very upset that we lost this great man. He was sooo nieve to these women and their “sick” children, that he didn’t care what it looked like to others and it eventually killed him. I am so glad that he wont suffer anymore. I love you MJ but could never see you in concert, but I hear the one in Heaven is even better… FREE ADMISSION!Save me a front row seat. xoxox Cyndi
