Soulja Boy wants Lil Wayne & Jay-Z on next album

Soulja Boy Tell’em has huge goals for himself. He would love to tour with Rick Ross and Eminem this summer. And as he crafts his third LP, The DeAndre Way (that’s Soulja’s government name, y’all), he wants the A-listers in hip-hop to rap on it.


How does a track with Soulja Boy and Jay-Z sound? Or Soulja Boy and Kanye West? What about Lil Wayne? That’s who he says he’ll be reaching out to.

“I want the best of the best on this album,” Soulja said Saturday night in L.A., backstage at the yearly throwdown known as KIIS-FM’s Wango Tango concert. “I don’t want no bullsh–. I want, from start to finish, classic #1 records. I’m not playing.”

When he drops his LP later this year, Soulja wants to eclipse the success of his debut album, SouljaBoyTellem.com. “Mark my words: This album will be a classic,” he promised. “A lot of people been sleeping on Soulja Boy for a long time.

“A lot of people … said I was garbage,” he added. “They said I was a one-hit wonder, then I came with ‘Kiss Me Through the Phone,’ my second #1 single. Then I released ‘Turn My Swag On,’ my third #1 single. I got everybody’s ears open, so I’m gonna hit them with a classic. Mark my words: This album will go platinum. It will be the best album I’ve put out so far.”

Soulja said he’s been so preoccupied with making hits, he’s been neglectful in letting his fans in on his pivotal life’s events.

“My first two albums, I never did tell people my story,” he said. “I just put out fun records. … Now that people got these hits, it’s time to go in on ‘em.”
